Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Purchased new itasca motor home july 1999 has firestone steeltex radial 225/75r16 r4sii. within first 18,000 right front tire blew off tread. firestone says it was caused by "over inflation" next at 20,000 miles right rear tire threw tread. this time the tread completly separated in such a way that air was still left in the inner tire skin. firestone blammed the failure on "shelf life of tire too old" this time we demanded new tires. firestone installed 6 new at our expense. less than 2,800 miles, the left rear tire blew out the tread and sidewall. firestone says "it was your fault, the tire lost air and you drove on it" the last failure caused heavy propety damage.*ak |
