Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: When my 2004 gmc yukon warms up, a loud repetitive clanging noise eminates from the exhaust system. this can be heard while driving and continues for a period after the vehicle is turned off. the yukon was purchased new on 5/31/04 and began making the noise within 500 miles. gmc says engineering has been working on the problem since 11/03 and it involves metal in the exhaust system being deformed by the heat. i have spoken with several other yukon owners and made a point to listen to other yukons on the road and have not found another yukon exhibiting the same problem. gmc refuses to replace the exhaust system. if the metal is deformed, how do i know that it is not leaking fumes into the passenger compartment? |
