Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Since i bought my car in 2001, i've had numerous problems with the brakes. within the first 4 months, my rotors warped. they've warped twice since that time. also, every 4 months or so, i have to take my car in to have the brakes resurfaced. i've been told that i have to brake aggressively rather than slow to a stop. so, i've tried that. the breaks still warp and need resurfacing more often than they should. i've been told by two mechanics at two different dealerships that this is a known problem with some, but not all, audi a6 2.7 turbos and 4.0's (8 cylinder version). they've said that the technical people know there's a problem, but corporate keeps denying it. the last mechanic said there are some things they can do to try to help the problem, but they're not guaranteed to work. none of the fixes included using thicker or better brakes, which evidently are available at a high cost! some of the tweaks they can do include precision balancing of the tires and making the suspension even tighter than it already is. *jb
