| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 2001 25' rockwood ultralite travel trailer. it was equipped with carlisle st205/75r14 steel belted radial tires. all 4 wheels plus the spare was this tire. we use this trailer very little maybe averaging 1500 mi/year. on august 6,2004 the final carlisle blew out on interstate 10 near tallahassie, fl. every one of the 5 blowouts occurred on interstate highways. 3 on i95, 1 on i75, and 1 on i10. my max speed is 65 mph. i check the tires and pressure before i take the trailer out. there was no warning on any of the blowouts. i believe these tires are defective. i called carlisle and since warrenty had expired, they were not even interested enough to ask questions about the blowouts. they should not have failed with the few miles i had on the tires.*ak |
