| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I am in the process of having my forth steering column replaced on my 1999 corvette, manual transmission. but the problem that i am reporting is that there were two times that this car ran out of gas with over 100 miles still showing on the distance to empty display.the last time i was having the steering column replaced i found a service bulletin , tsb # 02-06-04-010a pertaining to erratic fuel level readings and had the dealer correct the problem. both times running out of fuel were at night time and the last time i was stranded on the top of a bridge with my daughter. we were almost hit 4 times by cars driving by because there was no place to safely pull over. i feel this should be a recall item because it leads you to a false sense of security in having fuel and when the car stops running, you loose the ability to steer the car safely.*ak |
