| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Thule bike rack model 936 hitching post pro. purchased new from certified dealer. first time rack was used one of two bikes flew off at highway speed. estimates for repair of bike $1200 by same dealer that sold bike rack. the far greater concern is that if i had not noticed that the first of the two straps had disengaged while traveling at highway speed on interstate 275 i would not have been able to take emergency action to pull car off on to shoulder where bicycle flew off at about 30 mph barely missing oncoming traffic. if the bike had released while in left the rubber strap's design is clearly insufficient to secure bicycle in a reliable fashion.*ak |
