Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I purchased a britax wizard for my 2 1/2 year old in july. i recently noticed she figured out how to open the flap and loosen the belt which allows her to push forward, loosening the straps of the seat. she has done this on at least three occasions now. i thought the current recall kit would fix the problem but when i notified britax this morning they informed me that this would not fix the problem and that i would have to contact the retailer i insisted on getting a completely different seat and explained that it is likely my two year old isn't the only genius i think she is and other kids' lives could be at stake. the representative stated that the only thing she could do for me would be to send me the recall kit. as i am an attorney, i asked why the retailer would have to be called since the manufacturer would ultimately be responsible for replacing the item as it is clearly defective. the britax representative said she would have management return my call next week. i then phoned the retailer and informed him of the problem and he told me initially to call britax but then when i explained the concept of strict liability and the chain of liability he suddenly agreed to assist me. i am concerned about this product as i do not believe the current recall kit will fix the problem. i am insisting on a different britax car seat (and i am quite certain that i will get what i am asking for) but the public must be informed about this product since innocent children's lives are at stake. please assist. the retailer tells me millions of these seats have been sold. karyne t. ghantous, esq. burnham brown 510/835-6729 . *ak
