| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 35ft dutchman 5th wheel that is 9 months old. the tires are lt235/r8516 . the tire are always covered in storage and before trips the tire pressure and condition are always checked along with the lugs: nuts. on my way home from lake havasu i experinced not one but two serious blowouts on oppisite sides of the trailer less than 80 miles apart. the first blowout caused extensive damange to the back fender, under carriage, and frame around the back door of the trailer. the fender is shreaded. the tread completely separated from the tire. i put the spare on, continued on my way when less than 80 miles later i experienced another blowout. same thing, tread completely separated from the tire. these tires had less than 1300 miles on them and were all inspected prior to the trip. i now had no spare and was forced into purchasing 2 new tires. i did not buy carlisle!!! i will now have to replace the other 2 tires and have the damage to my 5th wheel repaired. i have read and personally know of many failures with these tires. something needs to be done before someone looses their life!!! please make this manufacturer responsble for their defective tires.*ak |
