| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Letter referenced defective firestone steeltex radial r4 5 tires. the consumer request investigation for motorhome tire tread separation. the inside dual tread separated causing damage to the underside of the motorhome. the tire was shipped to the manufacturer for inspection. the manufacturer indicated that the inspection revealed that eh tire had been operated for an unknown period of time in an over-deflected state which caused the tread to separate. the manufacturer denied the consumer's request for compensation (1998 coachman class c). *nm the consumer stated that there was a loud bang under the left side of the motor home followed by several more bangs. after the tire was inspected the consumer was informed that the tire showed deformation and rim flange grooving. *tc |
