Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 2003 g35 sedan with approximately 13,000 miles on it. while traveling down a sidestreet at 35 mph approaching a stop sign at a major four lane cross street, removed foot from accelerator pedal to begin slowing down the vehicle when the car spontaneously revved at high rpm (over 6000 rpm). had to apply the brake forcefully to attempt to stop the vehicle and the car powered through the stop sign and into the first cross lane of the four lane street. a car on the cross street had to swerve to avoid striking our vehicle. the car could only be stopped by throwing the shift lever into neutral. on two previous occasions when the vehicle was about one month old, experienced a sudden spontaneous revving of the engine while stopped at a signal. the two previous occurrences did not result in loss of control of the vehicle. on the most recent occurrence, i had the vehicle towed to our servicing dealer (autoplace infiniti), where they claimed to have conducted a thorough diagnostic. they reported that they were unable to find any defects, computer error codes or manufacturer service bulletins on this problem, and, of course, were unable to duplicate the problem. i have written to infiniti consumer affairs about the problem as we are terrified to drive the vehicle and it has been idle in our garage the past three weeks awaiting a response from infiniti as to this serious problem. *nm |
