Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Throttle becomes sticky when closed. as a result extra force is required on the accelerator when initialy depressed. this is an extremly dangerous situation especialy in parking lots or other tight, highly populated areas since extra force is required on the accelerator to "break it free" once it does "break free" the vehicle can lunge/lurch foreward uncontroled. this situation makes smooth throttle control unobtainable. the problem seems to get worse with higher ambient temperatures as i assume the throttle plate expands when hot and binds in the throttle body. cleaning the throttle body provides relief for a very short period. i have read about this problem on several internet message boards and believe that gm offers an updated throttle body to correct this problem. due to the extreem safety hazzard i feel that gm is neglegent in not offering to correct this problem at their cost, as gm does seem to be aware of the deficiency.*ak |
