Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: During some regular maintenance my repair shop noticed that the strut towers in my 1996 plymouth grand voyager were badly deteriorated and the the struts were in danger of pushing through the top of the tower and consequently the hood. this situation would have rendered the vehicle uncontrollable and presented a dangerous situation if i, or my children, was on the highway. if not hidden under the hood i would have noticed it some time ago, long before the warranty expired. also this kind of structural failure should not occur in a vehicle this young and is indicative of a design fault. chrysler has issued a tsb number 23-044-02 acknowledging this problem and has a repair kit for it. clearly they are aware of the problem and uninterested in helping people with a design flaw that takes many years to develop. they will not help customers who have bought a defective product unless your agency forces them to address this issue and i urge you to do so.*ak |
