Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was driving along the highway when my friend and i noticed an antifreeze smell and the windshield started to fog. we both work on cars for a living and we both knew exactly what it was. the heater core. what surprised me was that my car only has 35k miles on it and this is the first time i have ever seen a heater core fail with so little miles on it. the part cost me $200 and the labor, which i was thankfully able to perform, took the better part of a day. the car's computer is located beneath the heater core but luckily i caught it in time or it could have caused an accident by stalling the car on the freeway. i immediately parked the car and called for a tow to keep from causing an accident, damaging the very expensive computer, and breathing the toxic fumes from the antifreeze. *jb |
