Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: About 8 months ago i bought a britax wizard car seat. just yesterday 11/15/04 i noticed my 14 month old son could reach the lever pull up on it and lean forward to let himself loose. he can completely losen the harness. when i called britax about the problem they said the solution was that i had to teach my son to not touch the lever and that over time through re-enforcement he would learn not to let himself loose. i thought this was absurd since my son is only 14 months old and he doesnt understand. then the customer service representative continued to tell me that it was common knowledge that children where letting themselves out of their carseats and all makes and models were having similar problems. i wanted to know if this was really true, because i don't think carseat manufaturers would be getting approval to sell their carseats it was a known fact that children could get out of them. anyhow, she continued to tell me that it was my parenting skills that needed to change and not the car seat.*ak
