Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: At 76000 miles the spark plug blew out of my v10 excursion. the excursion is a 2000 model year and in very good condition. the plugs have never been changed since new. ford will not fix it as it is out of warranty and the warranty company, (heritage insurance) will not cover it as they say it is a defect with the design of the head and plugs from ford. they say there is not enough threads in the head design. this seems to be echoed on the internet in many forums and other articles. appearently ford knows about this and still does nothing, except chage their customers thousands to fix the problem. furthermore the fix of replacing the head is not a permenant solution.*ak |
