Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Many new cars are being equipped with 'high intensity' headlamps (some referred to as xenon or hallogen). these are too bright! they produce a lot of glare, make it impossible to see beyond the glare where pedestrians, motorcycles or other cars may be obscured. at night, suvs or other 'raised elevation' vehicles have these bright lights directly in my rear-view and/or side mirrors, blinding me entirely. if i adjust the mirrors to prevent the light from shining into my eyes i cannot see into those areas around my car. in addition to the lamps themselves, some vehicles have lenses that focus the light into a tight beam. was this done to reduce the glare? if so, it's a failure! the intensity of this focused beam is so bright, the glare is secondary - the light hurts. this is brighter than the 'high beam' settings on most cars - and we're not allowed to drive around with those shining into peoples' eyes!*ak |
