Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: (1) i purchased the used 1999 chevrolet blazer from quirk chevrolet in quincy, ma in june 2003. i was under a 30 day warranty if there was strictly anything wrong to bring it back to them to be fixed. the problem with the gas guage started in the winter of '03-'04. (2) when the gas level would fall below the half mark line it would stop reading the correct level. the needle on the guage will tick back and forth bouncing from empty to full randomly, it will do this alot especially when the car was parked and running. i have ran out of gas twice on the highway due to this. (3) after doing some research this is quite a common problem with these models. not only familliar problems, but the sam exact problems. i have a friend who drives a 2001 gmc jimmy, which is essentially the same body, who has the same problem. when i contacted gm they have not recalled this, and are charging $400 for the part, not including the money for labor.*ak |
