Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I own a 2001 silverado 4x4 and there is nothing but problems from the brakes. i had to replace the rear brakes at 30000 miles because of a poor steel which caused the rotors to flake and pit apart which in turn caused failure of the rear brakes. my service manager at the gm dealer told me to replace the rotors with after market because they are of better quality and cheaper. after over $400 for the parts plus labor, the brakes are now functioning. then 4 months later i come to find out that my abs tend to come on when i slow to a stop, they activate at approximately 5mph and below. they do this on any surface at any given time. this has caused me to brake further into intersections and crosswalks as the abs grab and release. i take it to the dealer and they tell me that there is a service bulletin out to fix this. i will need to spend more $ and hope to have decent brakes. i am getting very fed up with the problems on this vehicle. *ak
