Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 1998 volvo v70 xc. the srs light keeps coming on- i have it tested and 2 or 3 times i was told everything checks out ok it just needs to be reset but within a few days or weeks it is back on again. other times the sensor codes indicated the rear seat belt sensor was bad, the drivers entire seatbelt mechanism was bad and they were replaced. but again the light comes back on within a short period of time. my understanding is that if the srs light is on the airbags will not deploy - is this correct? i have been told it may be that the main computer for the airbag system that is bad. if that is the case, is it possible that all fo the other error codes /replacements were incorrect/unnecessary? i have been told by my mechanic that he has ha a lot of similar problems with volvos especially v70 in this model year range, but that there has been no recall.*ak |
