| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: C5 corvettes have a problem with the steering column lock malfunctioning and leaving owners stranded or locking the steering wheel while driving. i am one of several owners affected by these problems. i've had the steering column lock while making a slow turn in a residential area, fortunately not resulting in an accident, and was left stranded when the car refused to start because of a column lock malfunction. gm issued a recall to fix the problem and i had the recall performed on my car. however, i continue to experience steering column malufunctions. most recently this week, my car failed to start after displaying error messages on the same steering lock malfunction. was able to get the car to the same dealership which performed the recall, but they were unable to find a problem after running the diagnostics. a second dealership encountered the same result. however, i continue to have intermittent problems.*ak |
