Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Goodyear, wrangler rt/s safety defects - sidewall bulges and bumps. only 8,000-miles on the tires. the first sign that something wrong was the development of an "oscillating rotational noice" when driving. it grew louder with time. i took the vehicle to a gm dealer to check the bearings, brakes, allignment, , etc. for a porblem. none was found. then a "thumping" sound at low speeds developed. i had the auto dealer install my snow tires and all unusual sounds and "thumps" disappeared. the tire manufacturer asked me to take the tires to a local dealer for an inspection. the dealer says that sidewall bulges and bumps are normal and that goodyear will not replace the defective tires. there are only about 8,000-miles on the goodyear wrangler tires. i can only believe that there is a serious manufacturing and safety defect with tires that develop bulges, bumps, make rotational sounds and thumping noises. i think there could be a serious safety defect at hand that the manufacturer will not acknowledge and repair through tire replacement and investigation of the problem. prompt action could save lives, apparently not a top priority. *ak
