| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: "roaring" noise from the rear end at 30-50 mph. dealer (metropolitan lincoln-mercury in louisville, ky) diagnosed the problem as worn rear axles and axle bearings. axles, bearings, seals, and brake rotors were replaced at a cost to me of $932. i was told there is a recall to fix this problem because of a early failure in the axle shafts due to an inadequate heat treating, but my vehicle was "not on the list" that qualified. see nhtsa campaign id # 04v328000. if i have the problem that is being fixed by the recall, why isn't my vehicle covered? *jb |
