Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: 2004 kawasaki klr650 1) vehicle was purchased new and ridden according to break-in schedule. the vehicle was ridden mostly on the surface streets and highways, and about 100 miles off-road. the bolt, idler lever pn 92150-1923 was adjusted at the interval recommended by the manual. 2) at 4,932 miles, the spring, idler shaft, pn 92144-1860 is missing. it may be in the engine, or may not have been installed at the factory. this makes it impossible to adjust balancer chain tension without disassembling the engine. a loose balancer chain can cause catastrophic engine failure. 3) no repair has been made yet. the spring may be in the engine. *jb
