| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Driving 60 mph on interstate 44. felt sudden vibration. thought it was roughness in the road, so i moved to a different lane. vibration did not stop. i then thought that it might be another firestone steeltex radial tire tread separating because i have had eight (8) previous firestone steeltex radial tires suffer catastrophic tread separation failures! before i could move to the right and get off the highway, the tread peeled all the off. it damaged the motorhome severely. note that, although all 8 previous tread separation failures occurred explosively, this one did not explode. i got off the highway, let the air out of the failed tire and installed the spare tire until i could go get a new replacement tire.*ak |
