Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: (1) my wife drove our 2000 ford expedition to the grocery store on january 5th, 2005. when she came out, about 25 minutes later, the fire engine had arrived and was trying to put out the fire under the hood. they had to break the driver side window to get to to the hood release. 2) he insurance fire investigator claimed fire was caused by an alternator electrical short. but as we now know ford has acknowledged a problem with the cruise control deactivation switch overheating and causing fires. 3) we believe the problem was caused by the cruise control deactivation switch problem ford finally acknowledged having. *ak |
