| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The disc brake pads jam and fail to make proper contact with the rotors when dirt gets in the area that the brake pads ride on 'runners (stainless steel sheet metal covers the mounting frame where it rides . the clearance is so close and road it will jam the pads. this requires disassembly of all of the brake caliper and grinding of the rotor frequently. the pads not pressing on the rotors properly allow the rotor to rust further degrading the brake performance and causes uneven braking and greatly increased stopping distance -- i have had to overhaul the brakes three times and the repair mechanic says all gm trucks have the same problem |
