| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 2003 grand prix se and on 2/15/05, i went to open the back passenger door and the hinge and spring fell to the ground. it's the rivet end of the detent that snapped off. i contacted pontiac via emails and they told me to contact my dealer. i did and they told me the part costs $48.20 plus tax which equaled $50.91. my question here concerns the safety of this car if pieces fall off that should last the lifetime of a car. as long as i have owned this car since 4/17/04, there has been no accidents or anything to make this piece break off. are there recalls for this? i have looked and no is that answer. i don't feel that i had to pay for this part as we feel this is some kind of recall that should be put in place. i appreciate you looking into this as who knows, maybe next time the door will just open up in traffic or something. thank you. *jb |
