Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 1999 dodge ram 2500 4x4, with a cummins diesel 5.9 i had to have the injector pump and lift pump replaced at 98000 miles. today i was almost hit broadside because the injector pump and lift pump failed agian. i have 123000 miles on the truck today. those pumps should have lasted longer than 25000 miles. when my truck was repaired the first time it was covered under my extended warranty i had purchased when i bought the truck new from dodge. i am now being told it will cost me almost $6000.00 to fix it agian. i don't have that kind of money, and quite frankly don't feel that i should have to pay it. it has been less than a year since the first replacement pumps. the mechanic at the dealership said there should have been a recall on this long ago. the new cummins engines don't have this problem. cummins should make the engines that do have problems right. i do not abuse this vehicle. i have not modified this vehicle. i do not tow heavy loads with this vehilce. this problem needs to be addressed now before someone is killed as a result of thses engine failures. please make cummins and dodge recall these vehicles and fix them. *ak
