Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Upon exiting the grocery story on tuesday march 29, 2005 i found my 2000 ford expedition on fire. fortunately, there was a battalion of firemen shopping at the time & they were able to put out the fire very quickly. because they were the fire captain asked me if i had had the car serviced, in particular the master brake cylinder, as that was obviously the point of origin. i said no. a passerby mentioned the recall (we had only just received a letter in the mail) and after remembering the contents of the letter we received did we realize this faulty part was the cause. we had our car towed to the ford dealer where we bought it and had only gotton the run around since. the fire damage was limited to our vehicle engine compartment as well as left front tire and area between the engine & tire. this was due to the close proximity of the firemen when fire broke out.*ak |
