| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have less than 55,000 miles on my 2002 rodeo. a month ago when trying to accelerate, the gear shift from 1 to 2nd was almost impossible. the truck would shake and shudder and start to stall before kicking into gear - making my inability to operate very susceptible to accidents (luckily i had none). i took to a local mechanic who informed me that my transmission my be shot completely - i had leaked 4 qrts of fluid with no indication that i was low. when he ordered the part from the local dealer - he admitted to me that with other vehicles it is rare that these parts are available and need to be back ordered and that b/c they had on hand this must be a common problem. he sealed the leaks (there were several). however, this has not solved the problem the transmission is still leaking and i'm not sure is there would be any resolve with replacing the entire transmission. if this is a common problem with rodeo transmission and is a defective part then a recall is in order. |
