| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt: had just parked car in driveway and car was turned off. 15 minutes later there were 4 explosions and the car had blown up, and house caught on fire. there was no indication that there was any kind of problem. there were no signs of any problems. consumer talked the dealer today, and they said there was a recall on the cruise control activation switch, recall 99s15. no recall notice was received by the consumer..no recall noticed received!!! dealer said that even if the car was turned off for 3 months the car could still blow up because of the electrical current still running throughout the car. the car was just serviced for a tune up and oil changed, and was just aligned. also, two front new tires were changed. this car was in tip top shape. the consequence of not receiving the recall notice resulted in the loss of a vehicle, and a burnt house. this was the only vehicle that the consumer owned. the recall was issued in 1999, and consumer never received this notice. *ak |
