| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Just before i reached 36000 miles with my 2001 tahoe, the antilock brakes started to constantly engage. the service dept. changed the sensor on one side and the problem went away for a little while. it happened again and the service dept. cleaned the sensors, said there was corrosion or debris on them. i left the garage and it was ok but started again a couple of weeks later. i took the truck to the service dept again and they test drove it for 32 miles, but nothing happened. after about 100 or so incidents, i called the garage again and told them i almost had 2 accidents because the antilock brakes kept engaging on their own. i just took it in again, and they said that gm's technical department said the only thing they could do was replace the brake hub on one side and clean the sensor again, at a cost of gm's deductible amount of $100.00. they said nothing else could be done unless gm issues a recall on the truck. i told them this is unacceptable and what would i do if they fail again and i get in an accident? they said i would have to take this up with gm. this is a very dangerous situation and i don't feel safe in my vehicle. |
