Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I own a 1998 oldsmobile intrigue gl. to date, i have had three of the four window regulators break. there is a small plastic "keeper" imbedded into the otherwise metal regulator track, that secures both ends of the cable that transports the window up and down on its track. in all cases, this plastic keeper has broken, thus releasing one or both ends of the regulator cable, causing the window mechanism to fail, and allowing the window to fall down inside the door. i have temporarily secured the windows in the up position to keep the weather out. only the driver's door regulator remains operable; passengers can not roll down their windows. though it is not a life threatening situation under normal operation, it could cause a problem if someone in the vehicle needed to exit the vehicle by a means other than the door (say in the event of a side-impact collision when the door may not be able to be opened), and was not able to roll down the window. i am disturbed that the identical problem has occured on three of the four windows. i'm wondering when the fourth one will fail, and of course, feel this is a manufacturer defect that could lead to a life threatening situation if left unrepaired. i have done nothing to promote these part failures, and propose they be replaced. please help.
