Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: While taking my pick up in for its 18000 mile maintenance checkup, the dealership told me that all 4 rotors had to be replaced due to delamination of metal from the surface of the rotor. after inspecting the rotors myself, it was obvious this was the case. prior to this visual inspection, there was no sign of any brake problems. talking to various mechanics, as well as the head of the maintenance department, i could not get a believable answer as to why this occurred. the dealership stated that gm was having this sort of problem, but that it was my responsibility to have the repairs made. several days and $1200 later, i received my truck back with working brakes. however, had this problem not been found at this time, i'm concerned that the brakes could have failed without warning, with obvious consequences.
