Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: We have a 2001 ford windstar mini-van. we took van in for service due to "check engine" light. wife also noticed thumping in tire well. egr regulator was changed for "check engine" light, but the thumping turned out to be two (2) broken front coil springs!! how does a highway driven mini-van get two (2) broken springs? that was three (3) weeks ago and the van is still in the dealership waiting for the replacment springs which we are told are on back order. appears to me that if these springs are on back order, there must be a pretty good demand for them. the fact that both are springs broke with highway usage indicates a possible design problem. i believe this should be investigated. may be a recall needed here. |
