Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Dt: consumer said that in june of 2005 the check engine light came on and a faint burning smell came through the vents. in july, the consumer had the mechanic look at vehicle and told consumer that cam position sensor melted, and that there was a recall 04v357000 on this item. the dealer recommended the consumer take the vehicle to a local dealer and get the problem fixed. when the consumer took the vehicle to a local dealer she was told that this vehicle was not included in the recall, but the cam position sensor had melted. the consumer would like for her vehicle be included in the recall so that she could have the vehicle fixed by the dealer. the consumer insisted that her vehicle had the same problem as mentioned in the recall. the consumer had already had the vehicle repaired by the dealer at her expense of $135.69. *ak
