Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 2001 suburban with 65000 miles that intermitently stalls while driving and doesn't immediately restart. the problem has occurred in hot and cold weather, and occurs while driving at highway speeds, neighborhood speeds, and slowing to stop speeds. usually the vehicle re-starts after 10 minutes, but it has taken as long as 45 minutes before it will start. the vehicle also intermitently will not start after being parked for variable lengths of time. the vehicle has been to two different dealerships with the same result: can't duplicate the problem so can't fix it. i call the chevrolet customer assistance center and they tell me to take it to a dealer for a diagnosis, which has been done multiple times. the last dealer performed complete diagnostic testing and found nothing wrong. meanwhile, i read many articles and postings about other suburbans exhibiting the same behavior- stalling and not starting. and meanwhile, i get to drive a vehicle that puts my family in dangerous situations. while there have been no injuries, accidents or deaths caused by this behavior, yet, i am concerned about the safety of my family while riding in a vehicle that could stall at any time, with limited control of braking and steering. chevrolet needs to step up and take ownership of this problem and do something before people die.
