Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I purchased the alpha omega convertible car saet and the cosco commuter high back booster for my son. both of these seats harness straps were constantly twisting and folding over causing the straps to not fit securely unless removing and untangling everytime. now that my son is of the weight and height to make these seats into booster seats i have discovered that they are not reccomended as boosters by consumer reports. the child could potentially slide in under the lap belt or lean forward causing slack in the belt. i am extremely disappointed in these seats as when i purchased them it was with the ability of having seats that would take my son up to eighty pounds. i as a single mother bought these seats which were top rated at the time so i would not have to buy another for myself or my mother who also transports my child when needed. now i find myself having to purchase 2 more booster seats to assure my sons safety. i would like to see these seats recalled with a refund given as the straps twisting are a hazard and the false advertising these seats carry when stating they can become booster seats has caused me added expenses. though i have put todays date as the incident date i have had nothing but problems since purhased in april of 2002. i have spoken to cosco and they stated they could send new straps. why bother, it's the straps that are causing the problem. as for the newest problem, switching it to a booster seat they couldn't advise me on how to make it safer for my son, just follow the manufacturers instructions. |
