Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 1999 chevrolet silverado truck that has defective abs brakes. on several occasions, i nearly crashed when i could not stop the vehicle at low speeds even though i pushed on the brake pedal with all my might. i had the brake system repaired at a small shop at a cost of over $300.00 but the "fix" was only temporary. it was explained to me that the problem is a defect in general motors design relating to improper voltages to the sensors. i have had many near accidents since then. i don't know what to do and am afraid an accident will occur in all likelihood. the latest incident occurred at a restaurant where i came very close to striking a tree.
