| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Currently own a 1998 isuzu trooper. was purchased used from the dealer at 82,000 miles. currently has 120,000 miles on the car. since purchase vehicle has not held its complete capacity of oil between oil changes. there are no leaks and oil is changed regularly with a full capacity. investigation by me and others has shown that the engine was built with insufficient oil rings which lead to high oil consumption and has led to seized motors due to a lack of warning. isuzu is aware of this (mechanic told me) and was not fixed until the 2000 model year. (problem on 98 and 99 models. don't mind adding oil every once in a while but would hate to loose the engine because the oil system does not work properly in it's design. *jb |
