| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2003 gmc sierra 2500hd with duramax diesel started running rough because of low fuel. low fuel warning light did not come on. put 4 gallons of fuel in vehicle and scheduled appointment for 08/02/05 with gunn chevrolet service, san antonio texas. mechanic could not find any trouble code. was told by service adviser brian lecourse that there is no calibration or standard for low fuel warning light to come on and it may come on when vehicle is running out of fuel. i filled up the vehicle with 25.2 gallons of fuel for a 26 gallon tank. the low fuel warning light still was not on and the driver information system showed 36 miles left to travel. i went back to gunn chevrolet and was told that the problem could not be fixed. general manager charley o'daniel said that the people that design the vehicles are smarter than the people that fix them and that tech line stated there was nothing that could be done with this problem. charley o'daniel said not to let the vehicle get below 1/4 full as damage could occur to the engine fuel pump. *jb |
