Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: In 2003, i purchased a 2000 beaver patriot from la mesa rv in san bernardino. i was assured that there were no problems except one! the dashboard radio and the bose surround sound system. i took it 4 or 5 times and they were unable to fix it. they knew i had to leave for michigan and the service manager, paul nez told me, "don't worry mr. bussear, when you come back in the fall we will fix for you." one week later, i stopped in to la mesa rv in coberg, oregon. that was when their service manager immediately spotted the window problem. it meant that every window in the motorhome had to be replaced! it cost me $1,952. she also pointed out what looked like the delamination. she said, "beaver got a bad batch of windows in 2000 which they installed into the patriots. these coaches are also having problems with delamination. if it gets any worse bill, bring it back and beaver will fix it." i believe that la mesa rv committed fraud! there was no way that they could've sold that motorhome to me without knowing that the sound system had catastrophically failed, the hurricane heater system had catastrophically failed, and delamination was beginning! all these are major defects that should've been picked up and brought to my attention before i signed the contract for more than $150,000! i can tell you that if i knew about these defects before signing the contract, i would have never purchased the motorhome! i have asked to la mesa rv in san bernardino to fix these problems. they say that the delamination problem has to be repaired in the factory in oregon. the factory says, "because you are the 4th owner, your warranty is no longer valid!" that was another great surprise, i was told by everyone at la mesa rv in san bernardino that i was the 2nd owner. the vehicle only had 17,500 miles on it. i now have a $1,250 payment and the vehicle is worth much less! *nm |
