Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: On a recent vacation to florida, i blew out one tire near gainesville, fl. a second tire blew in ocala, fl. these are the original tires that came on my 2002 aerostar travel trailer, made by thor. these tires had less than 5000 miles on them. (carlisle radial st st215/75r14). one of the other two remaining tires had bubbles on it, so it was replaced as well. these tires are well maintained, covered when not traveling, air checked constantly, and never overloaded. after returning home i contacted carlisle tires who informed me that these tires were over two years old and they couldn't do any thing for me. they said this tire was made by good year and i could contact them and see if they would do anything. i called goodyear and was told they would pay for any damage to my trailer the tire had done, if i had kept the old tire. they said they would even pick up the old tire at the dealer where i had left it. no one ever mentioned this when i was buying replacement tires. i called the dealer but they had already disposed of the old tires. i was on vacation for two and a half months in florida so the old tires were gone. i still have one of the tires left. because i don''t trust them, this tire will never be used on the road. i have this tire in my garage if goodyear would like it back. also, i have one tire under the trailer used for a spare. i have already had my trailer fixed with an insurance claim, but had to pay a 100 dollar deductible. i don''t understand why goodyear would pay for damages but not pay for replacing these tires. i hope these marathon tires are better than i had, but they still worry me since goodyear made both tire brands. i believe carlisle tires or goodyear tires owe me the money for the 4 tires i replaced, and my deductible. plus they should replace the spare. here is some more info that was on the one remaining tire i kept.
