Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The brakes on my 2002 suburban began kicking back during stops on dry clean pavement near the end of the stop. this caused us to drift past stop signs on a number of occasions and caused near collisions in slow moving parking lot driving. i took the vehicle to a local dealer, hawkins chevrolet oldsmobile, inc. and was told the abs speed sensor was corroded and not working properly. they replaced the abs speed sensors on the two front wheels on 8/25/05 under invoice ctcs85504. i inquired about whether this would be replaced for free given the obvious safety implications and was told to file a claim with gm customer service. the service rep said that this was normal wear and tear and denied the claim, but registered a complaint under file# 1-355599627 on 8/12/05. i conducted further research on the internet and found a news article about the gm recall for this same defect in canada. *jb |
