Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Nissan's titan brakes, especially the front disc, failed 3 times. the rotors would build up heat, then shimmy under braking. nissan retro fit an upgrade kit with larger, vented front disc and a different brake pad. they also machined the rear rotors and installed new pads. this was at 19954 miles. now the vehicle has 32200 miles and the brakes grind under load. the dealer has inspected the vehicle and states that this is normal. the grinding is felt through the pedal and is able to be felt by the passenger via the floorboard. it is also audible. the dealer states that the pad material may be changed, but that the shimmy would return. the grinding indicates additional wear on the rotors, leading to more recurrent and more costly repairs. the fear of a failure is unacceptable. |
