| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was pulling out of my parking spot, i had to turn the steering wheel almost all the way to the rite to get out. when my front tires came off the drive way( or curb) i heard a snap. my tires wouldnt move after that. the steeriing wheel would move but my tires wouldnt. i had to pay $150 to have it towed to a an auto shop ($50), have them look at it and tell me what had happened($70), and have it towed back($50). the auto shop told me that two bolts that hold the tie rods to the rack and pinion had snaped in half. they wanted $820 to fix it. i had them tow it back to my parking spot. i took the rack and pinion out myself and got the bolts out. i am still in the process of fixing this problem. my wife had looked online to see if this problem had happened to anyone else. she found that this has happened to quite a few people. i have a friend who ownes a 1994 dodge intrepid. my friend said the same thing happened to his car. he was driving when it happened to him, he lost control of his car and was hit by another car. my wife found a story of a couple of people that had this problem and it ended up taking the lives of there 18 yr old daughter and her boyfriend. i couldnt find a recall for it on your website. i dont know if you or the company's who have built these cars know of this problem. it would be much appreciated if it were investagaed. before it takes anymore lives. |
