Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Coil spring on drivers side broke and was sitting on tire, dealership towed van and charged me $415 plus tax, the van is a little over 850 miles over its extended warranty. i was told that this was not a safety issue and no recall for the year 2000. i was fortunate that the spring broke in my drive and not going down the the expressway at 70 miles an hour, or when my daughter, whom just recieved her drivers permit was driving. i would also like to mention that i had my van in for service on 7/01/05 for noises in the front end and vibrations while driving. dealer replaced sway bar, and balanced tires. (van was still under warranty) this took care of some of the problem. i have had ongoing problems with the front end of this van. the tie rods have been replaced a number of times. i was told that this was a problem with the ford tie rods and once my warranty was up i should have after market tie rods installed. seems to me that this is a problem that ford motor company should be required to fix. |
