Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Dt: consumer's daughter was driving through walmart parking lot at a low speed and heard a loud noise coming from the front end of the vehicle, she slowly drove home about four miles. consumer inspected the vehicle after she arrived home and discovered the left driver's side lower control arm attachment point on the axle was detached by the weld. had towed to a firestone outlet that had performed service on the vehicle, replaced anti roll bar attachment points that had worn out approximately one day prior. the service repair shop said they had never seen anything like this before. they noted there was no abuse of the vehicle or prior accident, the weld had simply failed. they could not repair this because of the liability issues, they did refer to a specialty welding shop and a jeep dealer, and they would not perform service as well for the same reasons. the only way to repair was to replace the entire front axle. no repairs have been made at this time. *ak
