Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: New 2005 silverado 2500 hd 6.0l, random, metal popping, cracking noises while in motion, and parked. sounds like small rocks hitting the sheet metal body. sounds are not isolated to one area on truck, come from all over, both sides. started almost immediately after purchase. dealer says it is related to "heat shields" and a service bulletin is published by gm. i am supposed to get a recall notice within 30 days or so. i cannot find a recall notice/service bulletin for this in anyone's records. *jb |
