| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: (1) my check engine light came on unexpectedly while i was driving under 35 mph. i took the car (a toyota corolla ce) to the dealership where i bought it, new, in the summer of 2000. (2) the dealer stated that the charcoal canister needed to be replaced. (3) the dealer replaced the charcoal canister at a cost of $460.20, parts and labor. i'm reporting this because i know that lots of other corolla owners have had the same problem. the canister is part of the emissions system but is not covered under the emissions warranty. it seems as though way too many toyota's are affected for this to be passed off as a coincidence. i called toyota to complain but they weren't able to help. *jb |
